After a distinguished 21 year career as a Line Officer in the U.S. Navy including service on the rivers in Viet Nam, Fr Mike attended the Episcopal seminary at Trinity in Ambridge, PA.  Graduating with a Masters in Divinity in 1992, he accepted a call back to his native State of Montana and served at St. Patrick Episcopal church, Bigfork, Montana.

In 1997, he was appointed to serve four congregations in south-central Montana---Red Lodge, Joliet, Absarokee and Laurel---near the Beartooth Pass entrance to Yellowstone Park. Fr. Mike came to us in June 2003. He currently serves on the Board of the Mission to Seafarers, a Cursillo advisory committee, and the Diocesan Council's budgetary assessment investigative body.  He completed terms on the Diocesan Cursillo Secretariat, the Board of the Clergy Association of the Diocese of Olympia and the Diocesan Evangelism Commission.

He has served as a deputy to the Episcopal National Convention, a member of The Montana Episcopal Diocesan council (3 years) and its supporting finance committee (11 years). He authored the program for mission and new congregation development for the Diocese of Montana. He was selected for and completed the three year national Clergy Leadership Project. In 2009 the Doctor of Ministry degree was conferred on him. His expertise is in congregational development.

Fr. Mike and his wife Penny have been married for over 37 years. They both have strong family ties to the Puget Sound
