ACKNOWLEDGE KINDNESS

The Stewardship Team met in May and discussed how we could
adequately acknowledge the increasing “acts of Christian
Stewardship” at St. Bede’s. At first, it seemed like an overwhelming
challenge, but we had an inspiration… if we faced this as a “team”, it
could be fun and also easy to do. Our “team” in fact, is you, our
church family.
It’s fun! We are asking each of you, (whom are old enough to write),
to simply look around at St. Bede’s… what acts of stewardship are
happening that sometimes we might have otherwise overlooked?
Who is sharing their time, their unique talents, or possibly their
treasure with others at our church and in our community?
Have you noticed…
How beautiful the flowers are on the altar?
How gorgeous our grounds are outside?
How sweet our communion bread is as it touches our tongue?
The enthusiasm in the voices of our children at St. Bedes?
It’s through the hands of others and their devotion that each of us can
enjoy their Christian stewardship. Now, you have an opportunity to
express your appreciation of their gifts through a Stewardship
Acknowledgment Card. It’s simple! Each month, the Stewardship Team will be providing
each member a sheet of twelve (12) Stewardship Acknowledgment
Cards to complete. Simply write the nominee’s full name on it, and
what act of kindness that you would like to acknowledge. If you
observe something special and don’t know who’s hands provided the
gift, ask. J
After you have completed the cards that you’d like to submit for the
month, cut the individual cards with scissors and submit them by
placing them into the offering plate on the first Sunday of each month
during services. Ushers and counters will forward the cards to the
Stewardship Team through team member, Joe McGuire.
Each month at the Bishop’s Committee’s business meeting, the
Bishop’s Committee will randomly select an acknowledgement card.
The nominee on the selected Stewardship Acknowledgment card will
be able to choose a charity of their choice to receive a twenty-five
dollar ($25) donation provided by the Outreach Committee through
St. Bedes. One charity for a $25 donation. If the nominee does not
wish to choose a favorite charity, the $25 donation will be forwarded
to the local Family Kitchen fund. It’s that simple.
A sheet of 12 Stewardship Acknowledgment Cards will be inserted
into the Tidings each month. If you receive your Tidings
electronically, the sheet is at the end of this document, or you may
pick up a sheet in the Parish Hall by the Ministries in Motion board.
