We at St. Bede's exercise our Freedom by the ways we adapt the Traditions of the Larger Church to the Needs and Circumstances of the Place and Community where God has Planted us.  St. Bede's is an Organic Part of the Episcopal Church and of the Anglican Communion. The Episcopal Church is made up of regional Dioceses that guide large clusters of Congregations and Mission churches like ours.   

​Our regional leadership comes from Bishop Melissa Skelton as we are a part of the Diocese of Olympia, named after the City where it was first established (though its offices are now in Seattle). Bishop Skelton envisions a church that is a safe and authentic community in which to explore God's infinite goodness and grace as revealed in the life and continuing revelation of Jesus Christ.  

​We at St. Bede's are exceptional in that we are a Mission Church, with a special, closer relationship to the Diocese and Bishop.

Our People

Every Member of the Body of Christ is indispensable.  Each role within the Church complements and is accountable to the others.  The Spirit calls us into the One Body in mutual respect, with a diversity of gifts and graces.  Our many Important People are:

• The basic Community of Believers, Baptized into Christ.
• The Bishop’s Committee (Elected Representatives) called to serve the communal wellbeing of the Community.
• The Ordained Ministry (Priest and Deacon) selected by the Congregation
• Licensed Lay Ministers to connect the People with the Sacraments and Worship
