St Bede is, even now, truly Alive and Well in the Spirit of Jesus. The Church does not close, only the building, because we are the church, the living body of our Lord Jesus and we are everywhere.

St Bede is facing up to Being Church during the season of Covid-19
In the Love of Jesus Christ, St Bede welcomes you joyfully, and is glad to include you into our Faith Community that seeks to serve and spiritually nurture everyone. We have a long history of Worship and Fellowship and Service, and are drawing on that strong past to strengthen us to finding its new, if temporary, expression under the conditions of the pandemic. We were accustomed to two Sunday Services, each distinct in the way it offered both devout worship and a heartfelt experience of fellowship. For some, we were the closest they knew to family, and for others, the best way to support the hunger for spiritual and emotional closeness to the Lord, with and through one another. We are continuing many of the experiences we have cherished, and are approaching them through the help of electronic and internet connections, from the safety of our homes. Sundays we gather virtually around our familiar altar, and are represented by other members of our congregation there, as we practice our sacramental worship together, while safely distanced. We will stay “in practice,” strengthening our faith and the sense of being members together in the Body of Christ, as we move closer to gathering together in person, when the conditions and new approaches become both healthful and suited to an obviously changed world.
