A Letter from Our Interim Priest
Dear Saints of St Bede’s,
I hope that all had a blessed and wonder-filled Christmas!
I pray that as we journey together in this time of transition, we will open our
hearts and minds to new possibilities. It doesn’t require much for one to realize
that churches don’t hold the same role in our society as they did when so many
of us were growing up and many long for the ‘good old days”. But the reality is
that throughout the years the church has continuously changed as society
changed. In the Book of Acts we find that most ‘congregations’ were small home churches. We know of the Reformation and the many break offs and splits
throughout the Christian community. Today we see the Mega-Churches, and
many ask, What can we do to grow our church? I will talk more about this at the
Annual Meeting on January 25.
Speaking of the Annual Meeting, we need candidates to serve on the Bishop’s
Committee. The BC is always an important role but even more so during times
of transition as the interim-vicar doesn’t have the same authority and roles as
one serving as Vicar of the Mission. I ask you to prayerfully consider serving on the BC and please let me know if you are interested in offering your time and
talent in this way.
As our home planet begins yet another trip around the sun, I pray that 2026 will
bring peace to our world.
With prayers,
Craig
